Fire Hazard for Baja Dirt Bikes
Posted on Apr 17, 2012 2:46pm PDT
Although Baja Motorsports have already recalled a series of their dirt bikes in March 2011, recent news of accident and injury is prompting them to re-announce that recall. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, consumers should immediately stop using their Baja DR50 and DR70 dirt bikes. Only 4,300 of these bikes are being recalled, so pay careful attention to the vehicle identification number. Those that are being recalled have a number beginning with "L98" and the letter "B" as the 10th character.
It is illegal for anyone to try and resell these recalled products so pay careful attention to product recall announcements so you do not unknowingly purchase a faulty product. According to accident reports, the fuel tank can leak which poses a fire and burn hazard to consumers.
